It was three weeks before he saw Emmy again. He had heard of her each day though.

Ghouls who entered the bar discussed her progress, loudly which Charon believed they did so he could hear them.

Even though the majority of residents witnessed Charon carry the wounded girl the stories that circulated hid his single act of kindness

"How brave was Quinn to save her !"

"Quinn carried her in."

Underworld had grouped to protect Charon. Azrukhal was none the wiser that he had acted out of contract.

Her injury was mostly superficial and with the assistance of stimpacks it healed quickly. However, according to the residents Emmy was a vault dweller and with her limited immune system she had contracted an infection during the healing process.

Charon wouldn't have needed the local gossip to tell him this when she walked in to bar. She was thinner than before. Quickly scanning her he judges that she is no where near the weight that he had carried. Looking at her clean he notices just how young she is, how fragile.

She walks slowly to the bar and orders a nuka cola, sighing softly as the cold reaches her feverish finger tips.

Azrukhal murmurs something Charon can't hear and Emmy returns with a fake but highly convincing laugh. She then surprised Charon by sitting at the table nearest to him.

"Hi." She practically whispers.

Charon grunts fully aware of Azrukhals judging eyes. Emmy looks behind her noticing him too and frowns.

"Can I not talk to him ?" She calls.

"Now why would you want to do that my dear ?"

"I just do" She states with a small blush.

"He's guarding. Don't disturb him."

Emmys' mouth forms a small o and her eyebrows rise. Turning back to her drink she picks at the label with a frown.

Charon can tell she's judging her next move but clearly decides against action as she sits quietly and sips her cola. When she rises to leave she stares at Charon dead on.

"Hey. Can you tell Quinn that I really appreciate what he did." Her voice is soft and her hidden meaning is clear.

He nods slightly looking at another wall disguising the gesture.

"Thank you Charon."

This sentence is more clear, more pronounced than before. She is trying to get her sincerity across. She leaves without another word leaving Charon to think over the words.

Azrukhal strolls over to collect her bottle whistling as he picks it up he stops whistling and his face turns serious in realisation.

"How does she know your name ?"

"The Serpent King isn't just for girls, you know. I can rock 'em either way!"

Yes. Yes yes yes howdoibreatheanymore? That, all the time, every time, all day, every day. Tunnel Snakes know how to rock 'em.

^^ You have no idea how much I want to like that comment... damn, we need a 'like' system here. BUT YES! WANTTTTTTTTT!

When Charon shrugs he is ordered to admit how she found out his name.

"She asked."

"When?"

"When she got injured."

"And she thought it was just appropriate to ask your name ? When Quinn brought her in... Who brought her in ? Tell me. That's an order."

Charon groans internally knowing that Azrukhal will find the act a disobedience.

"I did."

Azrukhal slowly raises his head towards Charon and glares. Charon waits for the discipline, for the violence but it never comes. Instead he returns to his bar like nothing happened and Charon continues his duties.

For a while Charon is fooled into believing that maybe Azrukhal cared about the girls well being. Apparently she was the one from the radio, people would care if she died. Then the bar closed.

"Charon come here."

Charon headed to the bar feeling every joint click and pop from lack of movement.

"You knew the rules. When you're ordered out of the bar you are to return as soon as your task is completed."

Charon stayed stone faced and gave no reply.

"Was the girl part of your task ?"

"No."

"So you acted out of contract.... If I let you away with it." Azruhkhal spat "You'll do it again and again until you think you're free to do whatever you wish and you know what Charon ?"

Charon remained silent as ever.

"That isn't your right." His words were venomous and spoken slowly. "Say it."

"Free will is not my right." Charon spoke blandly, like the trained soldier he was.

Azrukhal pulled out a 10mm he kept under the bar and walked to stand in front of Charon. Charon guessing his plan spoke up.

"Violence on your half invalidates the contract."

"It's not on my half. Take it."

Charon automatically took it off the bartender.

"Hold it to your temple."

Charon furiously thought to find a loop hole there was none. His contract was worth an extraordinary amount of dollars, it had never been exchanged by caps yet. The trainers did not think anyone would waste their money like this. So as obedient as ever Charon held the gun to his head.

Azhrukhal gave an evil smirk.

"Shoot."

I'm interested to see how their relationship would be (i.e. how Gob would be, how the LW may react to ghouls assuming her first interaction with a ghoul isn't with skittish, gentle Gob).

ok. I'm doing it. I'm prompting my most embarrassing kink..... thumb-sucking.

would love to see some slash fic featuring a thumb sucking courier. any characters are basically perfect with me, though I do like m!courier, arcade, and boone- any sort of pairing between those three is just fantastic. But again, I don't really care what characters as long as they're male!

I'm actually so hard up to see this in fic that I don't even mind if it's not the focus of the story...maybe just something briefly mentioned (though if any a!a DOES make it the main focus I will probably just melt into a happy puddle of goo and sing your praises through the ages).

The gun was empty. Azrukhal let out a nasty laugh and began to taunt Charon.

Instead of the usual submissive thoughts rage rose within Charon. Azrukhal was right. He had disobeyed his contract once before, he could do it again. So when Azrukhal leaned forward to laugh in his face instead of taking it he swung his right hand.

His fist collided with Azrukhals chin and sent him up before he went crashing to the floor.

"You punched me !" Azrukhal screamed holding his face. "You will be punished !!!"

Instead of doing the clever thing, Azrukhal acted on gut instinct and rage. Grabbing a bottle he smashed it across Charon's face. Charon made no noise. Instead he slowly looked down to Azrukhal with a bloody grin.

"Violence on your behalf. Invalidates. The. Contract." Charon gave a maniacal laugh and Azrukhal now horrified made a move to run. Charon grabbed his neck and collided his face on to the bar repeatedly and swung his knee to hit Azrukhal square in the chest.

Once Azrukhal was on the ground he began to run once more, this time making it out of the doors. Residents automatically looked towards the noise and all eyes were suddenly on Azrukhal. The vault girl was there eyes wide staring at the imposing figure behind him.

Azrukhal ran towards the stairs ready to flee but Charon got there too fast and helped him down the stairs with his foot to Azrukhals back. A collection of gasps were heard and Charon gave another laugh. Harsh and carefree.

Charon slowly walked down the steps to the huddled figure.

"Someone help me !" Azrukhal screamed.

No one did.

Anon is intrigued, but does not understand thumb sucking as a kink. Is it like an oral fixation? A comfort thing? The idea of putting something covered with dirt and germs and God knows what else in their mouth? Help this anon understand, and perhaps it will inspire her to write something.

Though it would have to be super short, as anon only has a smartphome to act as her computer...

I can't speak for everyone (and admittedly, sometimes thumb sucking dovetails into some slightly more extreme fetishes that this anon isn't really a part of..) but I suppose for me it's more of a vulnerability thing, with maybe a tiny hint of shame sprinkled on top. :P Shame because hey, it's thumbsucking, it's not exactly socially accepted for grown adults! & Vulnerability because it's a comfort thing above all, it's a self-soothing thing, so the idea of a badass, rip-roaring, mojave-stompin' man still unconsciously succumbing to such an innocent/infantile way of self soothing is just...endearing, I suppose! I've seen the trope played in movies where character x sucks their thumb in their sleep, whether consciously or not, and their cover is blown that way when another person sees them- the potential to be discovered by another person with your thumb in your mouth is just...intimate, I guess? I realize it can also be played for laughs, but I think that when it's just sort of accepted as an eccentricity it's almost sweet, in a way.

Hopefully that helps at all, sorry I'm not too good with words at times! If it does inspire you to write something I will be absolutely beside myself <3

Definitely interested now. O kay, just a few more questions! First, how much embarrassment/shame are you looking for? What about relationships (established, threesom, gen, etcetera) would you prefer? Do you have any courier personality/appearance preferences? And last, do you have any major squicks I should know of? I don't want to gross you out, after all..!

I think I HAVE to write this now, the idea won't leave me alone. But I'll need to play some NV to get back that Mojave feeling, so... It may take a while.
