Little Green Men? 7/7

“You say you're not made of glass,” he said, “But you're not made of steel either. I'd be lying if I promised you I'd never tell you to hang back and let me handle the bad guys. That's not who I am. I can't just sit back and watch while you get shot up by raiders and poisoned by giant bugs and ripped open by fucking Deathclaw Alphas.”

She tried to interrupt, but he cut her off with another brain melting kiss. Damn that man! He didn't fight fair, and this was a fight she wasn't going to let him win. She wasn't going to let him put himself in danger just to protect her.

She pulled back, one hand on his chest when he tried to follow her.

“You may not like it,” she said, “But if you want this to last, you're going to have to trust me. I mean it, Boone. You know I'm right.”

“Maybe,” he said, “Doesn't mean I have to like it.”

“Well, tough titties. You're going to have to try,” she said, “If you promise me that much, I'll try not to run face first into a a laser blast more than once a week.”

The ghost of a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. He crawled over her, one leg nudging between her thighs as his weight settled so deliciously on top of her. Her arms curled around him, aching to pull him in for another kiss.

“Well?” she asked, “Do we have a deal?”

“Alright,” he said, ”I think I can live with that.”

And kiss him she did.
