“So this was all just a prank?” Roxy said, pinching the bridge of her nose.

“Yeah,” Arcade mumbled. He really felt horrible about the whole thing.

The scribe fiddled with the mask in her hands, staring at her shoes. “We didn't think you'd react so violently.”

Cass scoffed as best she could with a dislocated nose. “That's for fuckin' sure.”

Boone uncomfortably shifted his weight from one foot to the other. “Sorry,” he said, actually sounding like he meant it.

“Yeah Boss, we're really sorry,” Raul sighed. ED-E adding its own apologetic beeps as well.

“Apology accepted I guess,” the Courier said after a moment. “But you do realize I have to make all of your lives a living hell now?”

The gleam in her eye had them all backing away slowly before taking off with Roxanna on their heels. Only Boone remained in the room with the drugged Nightkin. He looked after his companions with a raised eyebrow before exchanging the construction helmet for his beloved beret. Idiots, he thought, before crossing over to the snack table.

So yeah, there's that lol. Idk if this was exactly what you were looking for OP. I always celebrated like this (my mom was one of those people who didn't like the idea of her kid taking candy from stangers lol) and once I got older, me and my friends focused mostly on the 'trick' half of the holiday... thought now that I think about it, I kinda want to write something about the gang going trick-or-treating on the strip...

This was beautiful! You really got the character interactions down pat, and I think my favorite part was Boone's chicken-oink.

This was adorable, especially Lily's costume, Veronica telling Arcade to make it go away with logic, and the collective shudder at the very mention of the Sierra Madre. Great work!
