Rico leaned back to stare at the ceiling some more. Their was a stain right above his head that looked kind of like a relief of the Lucky 38. God knows what the stain actually was. Rico stood up. His back was tight, as was his abdomen. His skin felt a bit too snug as he rolled his shoulders. Rico looked Arcade in the eye.
“Can I ask you something?” said Rico, “On level?”
“Of course.”
“Can you come with me?” Well that came out of left field. It's not everyday that some handsome stranger just came out of the blue and asked you to travel with them. They just met today!
“No offense,” Arcade responded, “but why should I go anywhere with you?”
Rico had a response locked, cocked and ready to go, “Because I'm handsome and charming, and I need someone to watch my back.”
“No arguments on the first one, but I kind of have obligations here.”
Rico sighed and decided to drop the wasteland rouge persona, “Look, I can't feel pain. Like, at all. One of these days I'm going to get in a fight and bleed out from a gunshot wound I didn't know I had.” the waster straightened up, “So would you rather grind up cactus all day? Or keep me from dying, unmourned and unloved in a ditch somewhere?”
Dammit, he's playing the sympathy card and on his boredom. Arcade sighed, “All right, fine. I'll come with you.”
Rico smiled broadly, “Sweet, my own physician!”
And so they left, a doctor and a glorified postman, out into the wastes.
