Siesta (Arcade/Boone) 2/2

Boone stole a hand up under Arcade's shirt, pressed his icy fingers against Arcade's stomach. He chuckled as the doctor yelped indignantly, squirming uncomfortably but unwilling to move away from his only source of heat. "Stop being such a baby," Boone reprimanded, moving his slowly-warming hand in easy circles. "It isn't that bad."

Arcade snorted. "For you, maybe- you big, rugged soldier you. But I am a man of science. We're built for reason, not survival."

"You are so full of shit," Boone responded fondly, withdrawing his hand from under Arcade's clothes to better hold the other against his core. He shifted, repositioning their tangled limbs into a more comfortable arrangement. "Now go to sleep."

Arcade considered retorting, considered prolonging the playful banter just a few sentences more. But now, bones finally thawing in their warm entwinement, the suggestion of sleep sounded much more enticing. He burrowed into Boone's heated bear hug, tucking his head under the other man's chin and pressing a kiss to his clavicle. "Thank you," Arcade whispered sincerely.

Wordlessly, Boone reached around to tuck the edges of the blanket under Arcade's back, sealing in their incalescence. He remained characteristically silent, but the companionable curve of his arm, winding around Arcade's neck to carefully pillow his head, spoke volumes. You're welcome, it said. Don't mention it.

Arcade smiled then- an indulgent, contented grin as the steady snores of the courier and the even echo of Boone's thudding heartbeat finally, finally sank him into the elusive sands of sleep.
