F!Courier+Vulpes+Lanius My the Best Man Win

Call me crazy but I've itching for some political intrigue, lately. But not the boring, bureaucratic bull of the NCR. No, no, what fun would that be? I want some ruthless, cut throat, back stabbing position shuffling from the Legion!

Caesar's dead (accident? Murder? Tumor? Heart attack got him even after the tumor didn't?) and with out an heir or having officially named a successor, civil war has erupted. The contenders for the throne are:

Lanius, the Monster of the East believes he's the strongest and most worthy of leading the Legion into a glorious new Era of conquest. But he's a controversial leader, scoffing many of Caesar's old methods and believing the the Legion must be "reformed" even if forcibly.

Vulpes Incluta, loyal to Caesar till the end, can not stand to see what Lanius has planned for the Legion actually carried out. It's well known that there's no love lost between the two, and the finalizing of Lanius' rule could mean death or exile for Vulpes and the other Frumentarii. He tries to sabotage Lanius' bid for rule by subverting Lanius' supporters and simultaneously building his own. Vulpes is not a direct leader, though, and this lack of forwardness may cost him.

And lastly is the person who may turn everything on its head. The Courier shouldn't even be a contender, being as she's a woman. But she's cunning and charismatic, charming slave and soldier alike. She had the ear of Caesar while he yet lived and her direct involvement has confounded the NCR and helped secure New Vegas. She's been gaining support steadily and that's got some people nervous.

This is sure to be a battle for the ages!

Seconded, could make a brilliant story. What about Lucius though?
Actually I popped Caesar's clogs the other day with the help of Boonlicious and afterwards we had a conversation where Boone said something about NCR intel being that there was already a line of succession mapped out (Lanius I think)

I'm not sure where Lucius would ally himself but I don't see him making the bid for power personally. I loved what Marcus said about the Legion, that most of them follow the man and not the vision. If the line of succession is set on Lanius, good ol' Vulpes would know how much that screws him (immediately) and the rest of the Legion (eventually) and the Courier would see the unique opportunity of the situation. Maybe goody-good Courier looking to reform the Legion, and evil-fuck Courier looking to consolidate power over the Mojave or NCR allied Courier who could swing either way but wants to use the moment to weasel in and hasten the Legion's demise...

So many ways this could go! I do hope someone adopts this propmt or I may just have to end up self-filling!

yeah, we know Lanius follows only the man and couldn't care less about the vision, and we know Vulpes follows both equally rabidly. Lucius is more of a dark horse. I always had the impression he was thoughtful though, so probably man and vision imho.
There's a thing somewhere in-game about him commanding a lot of respect and having the charisma to keep control of the Praetorian Guard even though he is getting old and could be beaten in 1:1 combat by another guard (their method of promotion).
Anyway I'm gonna go kill Caesar again and listen more closely to what Boone says ;)

OK i killed him again, Boone just says that intel indicated "They have a whole line of succession planned out", doesn't mention who. Says Caesars death won't stop them, might not even slow them down, they'll just replace him with whoever's next in line. Also says he wasn't really in control of the army any more.
But Vulpes must have thought of this... after all Caesar is obviously very ill.
Anyway, yeah why not self-fill if no one else does, I'll pretend to be your OP and cheer you on xD
