"Look, Charlie, unlike you and your beautifully streamlined approach to carnal human relations while we traipse around the desert at breakneck speed, I don't have the luxury of being able to jump everything that moves when I feel like it, no matter how awful it smells. This way I save time and I don't get shot down in person. Worst case scenario, you have a little fun, and I can be happy for you while I drink myself into a lonely, sexually frustrated, melancholic stupor."

"Insulting my diplomatically open standards isn't working in your favour."

Charlie stares as Arcade tilts his head and bats his eyes. "I love you, Charlie. You're my super go-to gal. There, that shove things in a positive direction?"

"Oh, sweet shit and sawdust, I'll shove something." She lifts up her hat and musses the hair underneath vigorously before clamping it back down. "Hang on, idjit."

Arcade watches her stride off, then pointedly directs his attention back to the slot machines. He's not sure if he should be encouraged or worried with how fast she comes back. "How did it go?"

"Peachy. I asked if he was interested in screwing around with my tall blonde doctor friend, and he said sure, he'll try anything once."

"You did what?"

"No point in beating around the bush. Go on and get your ass over there, and if you want to keep it, I won't see you again 'till morning." Charlie tips her hat. If she's lucky, Rotface will still be where she left him and still in a mood to talk. "His name's Clanden. Have fun."

Good lord. I know I bandie the words "I love this" around a lot while reviewing the lovely things on the kink meme, but I genuinely, GENUINELY mean it this time when I say I LOVE THIS. So funny. And Arcade is spot on. I just--A!A will you marry me?
