A/N: I don’t know if this is what the OP wanted or not, but here is what this turned into.

The Courier didn’t know who found out when her birthday was, or who told the rest of their little gang of lovable misfits, but she wasn’t exactly happy. She had been planning on celebrating her birthday quietly and with minimum amount of fuss. She knew that if she told anyone her birthday was coming up, they would want to celebrate. Cass would want to take her to Gomorrah for drinks and men in various states of undress. Veronica would want to throw a party with paper hats and pre-war party games. Arcade would probably use it as an excuse to blow their caps on a trip to the Ultra-Luxe for overpriced drinks and a dinner no one would feel comfortable eating. Lily, well the Courier was never sure what the hell Lily would do, she guessed that Lily would want to make sure that her little Jimmy had a good birthday and would try to do something affectionate that would only end in unintended pain or accidental fires. The only people she could count on not to want make a big fuss over it was Boone and Raul. Overall, she thought it would be best if she just didn’t mention it to anyone, but someone found out and now she was awake far too early in the morning because there was a crowd of people around her bed singing at her. Rex who only moments before was sleeping soundly at the foot of her bed started barking happily. He pounced on her chest and licked her face, feeding off the excitement. She pushed off Rex so she could sit up in bed and stare at the crowd around her. The Courier tried to conjure up a Boone-worthy death stare, but the smiling singing faces looking back at her made it impossible.
“Happy Birthday!” Veronica beamed at her, dropping both a large, heavy box at her feet and a smaller paper-wrapped package.
“You didn’t have to get me anything,” the Courier said, still wondering how Veronica managed to get Boone into a party hat.
“Just unwrap it. I know you’ll like it. It’s just what you’ve always wanted,” Veronica sat on the edge of the bed while the Courier tore open the makeshift wrapping of the box. She uncovered a full set of power armor.
“Oh, Veronica,” the Courier let out a little gasp, “This is amazing.” She ran her fingers appreciatively over the cool steel. The next package revealed a dress that was two sizes too small for the Courier.
“If it doesn’t fit you, I can always take it off your hands for you,” Veronica said, with a grin. Boone unceremoniously dropped a bag of ammo at her feet and Cass produced the largest jug of moonshine that the Courier had ever seen. The Courier turned a bright shade of pink.
“You guys didn’t have to do all this. It’s really too much,” she said, running her hands over the pistol Raul had repaired for her.
“It’s nothing really, just wait until you see the cake that Lily baked,” said Arcade, “it’s questionable at best.” Questionable at best was the most accurate description that the Courier could think of and when Lily brought her oozing concoction the Courier did her best not to grimace as she took a polite bite of something that wasn’t a cake and had beans running out of its flakey crust. She appreciated that sentiment.
