Re: Shit Outta Luck: F!Courier+Arcade (crack, gen) 1b/1

The Courier was inspecting the group of Legionaries they had just taken out for loot when Arcade looked down at his Follower’s lab coat. It was covered in blood and every time he moved one of his arms, more seemed to get dragged across the surface under his sleeves. With a sigh, he retreated back to their small camp on an outcropping not fifty feet from their ambush point and pulled open his duffel bag. Scrunched at the bottom (yes, he never had been good at folding things), was his spare coat. He started to put it on but realized something was horribly wrong when he looked down at his knees.

The entire hem along the bottom of the coat had been neatly torn off. He peered at it for several long moments, trying to decide if he indeed was seeing what he thought his eyes were showing him.

A breeze whistled over the ledge above, and a little note pinned to one side of the collar caught his eye as it flipped up. He pulled it off with a frown.

Gratias tibi ago! I thought about what you said. Great idea. Downside is I owe you a new coat. Love, your favorite girl Friday.

Slightly later, the Courier looked up from drawing a picture in the sand of Rex and Lily waltzing as he finished lacing up the breast-piece on a suit of leather armor.

“Oh,” she smiled enthusiastically, “you’re wearing the new armor we picked out! Totally sexy.”

“Hmm,” Arcade gave her a very interesting smile. “Gratias maximas tibi ago. I’m glad you like it, I anticipate that I’m going to be using it very shortly.”

“Oh good,” the Courier turned back around to finish her drawing, “breaking it in before battle is always important.”

With her back turned, she never saw him chuck the rock at her head.

Gratias (maximas) tibi ago - Thank you (very) much.

Lol, you were quick! Yay! Thank you for liking it, and for finding it funny, I try. I know, I totally read the prompt and I was like 'well...weeelll', and then it just happened. But, that's how all the good crack occurs, isn't it?

Haha! I nearly bust a gut, here.

"the little mole rat behind her eyes running frantically on its ephemeral wheel into the pit of darkness that was her mind." THIS is my favorite line of the whole thing, dear A!Anon. Thank you for writing!
