THE RULES

1. All requests, stories, artworks and comments must be posted anonymously. If you're having trouble remembering to post anonymously, please message me and I will block your Livejournal username for you. You will still be able to post anonymously.


2. Do not post any stories or artwork that you have not written or drawn yourself.


3. For every request you make, you should post a story or artwork for someone else's prompt. If you feel you cannot contribute fic or art, you should comment on at least three stories or artworks. A high ratio of comments to fills is necessary to keep the Fallout Kink Meme alive and healthy, and everyone must contribute in one way or another.


4. Nothing sexual under age 17 is permitted. Sexual 'correction' violent or otherwise against gay or lesbian characters is not permitted, nor is racism, homophobia or hate speech. Content that contains animal abuse or death for sexual pleasure is not permitted. Please use your good judgement. If it isn't in the game, it probably doesn't need to be included. All material containing material with no consent (noncon) or dubious constent (dubcon) MUST be clearly labelled with NONCON or DUBCON included in the subject header.


5. Be a good neighbour. Be enthusiastic and welcoming to new posters, don't pick fights on the meme if you don't like something, be the first to leave a comment if a story isn't getting any attention, and generally make the Fallout Kink Meme a postive and busy place. Be nice.


6. Please post your stories to the kink meme itself, not a link to AO3, Tumblr, FF.net or similar. The Fallout Kink Meme is a small and intimate space for sharing fic with a strong community of readers; merely posting links to and/or spruiking offsite stories destroys that close-knit community feel. Links to offsite stories and/or directions to find stories posted offsite will be considered spam and removed. Feel free to promo your AO3/Tumblr/etc account in the Who Wrote What? post, but please keep it out of the story sections of the meme itself.


7. If you want to contact a mod without the loss of anonymity that comes via PM, post your questions and requests in the AMA/Mod Alert Thread.

How To Post: Requests, Fills and Feedback

How To Post A New Request:

Look for the 'Leave a comment' link at the top and bottom of each page. Click there to make a new request.

How To Post A New Fill:

Underneath each prompt is a link called 'reply'. Click this to post your fill as a response to the prompt.

How To Post Feedback:

Underneath each story or artwork posted is a link called 'reply'. Click this to post feedback to the story or artwork.

Tags

Prompts need to include the character(s)/pairing(s) and applicable kink(s) in the comment title. Noncon and dubcon MUST be clearly labelled with NONCON or DUBCON included in the subject header.


When posting a story or artwork please include a short list of characters, relationships (gen, femslash, slash or het) and applicable kink tags. Noncon and dubcon MUST be clearly labelled with NONCON or DUBCON included in the subject header. Where possible please include a short catchy summary as this will be used in the Pinboard listing of your fill.

Formatting

When posting a story consisting of multiple chapters/sections/parts:
Post the first part of your first chapter as a reply to the original prompt. Post additional chapters as replies to the first chapter. Confused? Check out these handy visual examples to see the way LJ's nesting neatly lines up when you do this.


Number your chapters as (4/?) or [63/?] on works-in-progress. If you don't include the ?, odds are good that your fill will be marked as completed even if you've just started. If your update requires multiple parts due to character length limitations, title your posts (2a/?), (2b/?) and so on.

The post character limit is 4,300 characters, or approximately 1 and a quarter Word document pages.

Miscellaneous

Fills should be posted under their original prompts, even if those prompts are in the older parts of the meme. Fills on the older parts of the meme get just as much eyeball traffic as the fills on the active page. This is largely due to Pinboard archiving and email tracking offered by LJ.

Unprompted sequels should be posted under the original fill.The only exception being if your sequel is a response to a completely different prompt. If that's the case then just fill under that new prompt, and don't forget to ask for a series tag (http://falloutkinkmeme.livejournal.com/1855.html)!

You are welcome to post a prompt for the sole purpose of autofilling it yourself. Just make sure the prompt is broad enough that other anons can fill it as well if they want. Don't forget to let us know that you're the OP!

Multifills are always welcome! You don't need to ask anyone's permission - just go ahead and fill.

Prompts can be reposted after three months. Please include a link to the old prompt so that the Pinboard archive can be updated to reflect the repeat request.

Logged-In Posting

While the Fallout Kink Meme is an anonymous kink meme, there are benefits to having a Livejournal account and reading/posting while signed in. During times of heavy server load Livejournal can sometimes delay or not show anonymous comments to people who are browsing while not logged in, which can be an issue if you're posting a story or in the middle of an engaging story!

Best practice is to sign up for a free Livejournal account, stay logged in to browse, and make the quick switch to anonymous when you want to post, like this:

Subscribing to the Fallout Kink Meme

There is a way to track fills on the meme so updates are delivered directly to your inbox.

First, you need a free LJ account.

Second, go to the specific thread/LJ entry you want to follow and click the thumbtack icon at the top of the page.



Third, choose the way you want to be notified. Email is by far the most useful and handy method. It’ll send notifications to whatever email account you linked to your LJ account when you signed up.

You’ll have go around and do this to each individual meme thread you want to track but, once you do, every time someone leaves a comment in them — whether it’s a new prompt, a fill update, or a comment on a fill — LJ will send you a notification so you don’t miss anything!
