Strangers are no rare occurrence at the Thorn. There are the regulars, but most of the men and women populating the underground arena are unknown to Red Lucy - Westside residents, caravan drivers passing through, teenagers looking to prove themselves. None of them will stay. Names are not worth learning, in her experience. People come, and they either leave or die.
This stranger called himself Fox. Asked for a machete in exchange for a show. He killed radscorpions, geckos, nightstalkers; blood painting his face and staining his teeth. Money flowed like water that night - passing from hand to hand so quickly that people lost track of what they'd won and lost.
Red Lucy caught him in the washroom afterwards; watched as he scrubbed his pale skin raw. Scars traced intricate patterns over his back, his shoulders, his arms.
Later that night, he bit at her neck, and seemed surprised when she bit back.

Date: 2013-08-13 06:49 pm (UTC)Not to sound ungrateful, (seriously, I don't mean to at all, the microfill was really a treat) but this almost feels like a summary or an intro for a great little story. Think about it: Vulpes has a secret hobby/addiction/indulgence when he goes incog on the strip!
