Late Afternoon (Microfill)

Date: 2011-12-05 09:44 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Kinks: Crack, vampirism, crossover
Canon Characters: F!Courier
Relationship: Het (F!Courier/Carlise Cullen)
Summary: Doc Cullen saves the Courier's life in Goodsprings

"Are you awake?"

The Courier's eyes fluttered open, the world still cloudy around her. She could make out the faintest outline of something, a figure standing over her. Blinking again, she brought the figure into focus; it was a man, blonde and pale, dressed in what looked like a lab coat.

"I...I think so. Where am I?"

She tried to sit up, but felt pain as she did so. The man rushed to her side, putting his hand on her arm.

"Don't try anything too sudden. You may still be in shock. It's a miracle you weren't already dead when Victor found you." He gave a reassuring smile. "And to answer your question, you're in Goodsprings, in my son's old bed."

The Courier rubbed her forehead.

"Didn't think I would wake up. At first I thought you might be- I don't know, an angel or a devil or something."

"Hardly. Just a lonely old man whose children have married and left the nest, serving as doctor to a small town. Carlisle Cullen, Doc Cullen to most people in Goodsprings."

There was too much going on at once for the Courier to process systematically. She'd been attacked for no apparent reason, shot in the head, and finally woken up in the house of a stunningly gorgeous doctor. She wasn't sure which part to focus on first, she she settled on trying to make small talk until she was sure.

"Have I seen you before?"

"Possibly, if you're from New Vegas. I worked at the Old Mormon Fort for a time, before I decided to come back home."

"Come back-"

"I'd left this house quite a while ago. So many memories of family..."

By the look in his eyes, the Courier decided not to press him on the issue. She'd heard of enough people who lost their wives to Khan raids or their sons to nightstalker attacks that she didn't want to bring up whatever it was that had emptied the doctor's house. She smiled as best she could at him, squeezing his hand.

"Thanks for saving me. You're a godsend."

Carlisle laughed sofftly.

"A godsend? My poor lovely girl, you flatter me. There's more I have to tell you, but it can wait until you have your strength."

"I'm okay. Really, I think I'm okay. My neck feels a little sore- don't know why, if they shot me in the head."

There was a long, awkward silence. Finally, Carlisle sat down at the foot of the Courier's bed. He took her hand and kissed it, and she offered no objections.

"In that case, we can have that discussion right now. And I only hope you can forgive me once I've explained just how I saved you..."

Carlise is the only thing I liked from Twilight. :3 This is amazing, and I wouldn't be adverse if you decided to continue.
